You can log time right on a task or on the Timer page. Your entries then feed reports and billing.
The Timer page and Reports come with the Standard package.
Turn on time tracking in a project #
Time tracking is set for each project separately. If it is off, turn on Time tracking in the project settings.
Start the timer #
- On a task: open the task and click Start timer. When you finish, click Stop timer.
- On the Timer page: pick a project and an existing task, or type a new task’s name in What are you working on? Then click Start.
- With a shortcut: press Shift+T.
You can only have one timer running. Starting a new one stops the previous one.
Log time afterwards #
In a task, click Log time. Fill in Day, From and To, add a note if you need one, and click Save.
Review your week #
The Timer page shows your logged time week by week, with totals for each day and the whole week. Continue starts the timer again on the same task.
Correct an entry #
On an entry, choose Edit or Delete. When editing, you can also change whether the time is billable. You can edit your own entries. To edit someone else’s, you need permission to update the project.
See your reports #
In Reports, choose the Period, Project and Person. You can group the results, for example by client or task. Use Export to download them as a PDF or CSV.
Lock invoiced time #
After invoicing, an admin can lock the period under Settings → Rates → Lock time. Nobody can then log, change or delete time up to and including the chosen day. The lock date can also move forward automatically.
